Angelique Weger is a senior front-end developer at Detroit Trading and leader of the Baltimore chapter of Girl Develop It. Formed in 2004 by auto industry veterans, Detroit Trading powers the automotive section of many of the largest consumer-facing web properties on the internet, including Yahoo! Autos. Girl Develop It is a nonprofit that provides affordable programs through which adult women can learn web and software development in a judgment-free environment. Started just five years ago in New York City, today Girl Develop It has chapters in 46 cities, representing 35,000+ members nationwide. The Baltimore chapter held its first class in February 2014 and has grown to 940 members, women from all walks of life who are changing their lives by learning to code.
Prior to working for Detroit Trading, Angelique was a freelance web developer and designer and a collaborator with Left Bank Creative. Today, she splits her time between Charm City and Motor City and her energy between crafting clean, effective code and teaching others to do the same. Strike up a conversation with her about Sass or sharks.
