As the EAGB’s Commercialization & Innovation Specialist, Mary focuses on the development of industry specific innovation strategies and best practices, working closely with EAGB’s state and local partners and the region’s business, government and higher education leaders. She will manage a number of projects to include, Advance Maryland, an economic gardening initiative, and the DreamIt Health Baltimore accelerator project.

Mary has a broad background in economic development, with expertise in biotechnology, information technology, environmental resource management, entrepreneurship and federal technology. Mary began her career with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) working in the Office of Research Administration providing support to the bio-technology field research offices across the Country. She has also worked as Technology Commercialization Specialist for the Maryland Department of Business and Economic Development and has managed a successful startup environmental engineering firm. Most recently, Mary has provided strategic assistance on BRAC execution, Additive Manufacturing, entrepreneurship, technology transfer and business development activities for Harford County’s Office of Economic Development.

Mary is a member of the Maryland Economic Development Administration, the Army Alliance and Women in Defense. She has served on the Northeast Maryland Higher Education Advisory Board and RampMD Board. In her free time, Mary enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 daughters.
